Clinical Approaches
Why choose psychotherapy with Tammy?
Psychotherapy is one of many treatment options for psychological, emotional and physiological distress.
Psychotherapy focuses on all aspects of the human experience and embraces a relationship between body and mind. Psychotherapists work with their clients to understand the conscious and unconscious aspects of the lived experience of the individual. This process utilises a range of tools and is informed by various therapeutic practices.
Why choose psychology with Daniel?
Psychology provides a regulated, evidence-based framework to help you understand the complex interplay between your mind, body and lived experience. By choosing a psychological approach, you are engaging in a process that balances clinical science with personal meaning-making. It is about more than just managing symptoms; it is about gaining the tools to navigate your nervous system and reclaim a sense of agency and connection in your life.
What is RI-EMDR with Tammy?
Relational Integrative EMDR (RI-EMDR) is a whole-person, whole-system approach that expands on traditional EMDR by blending trauma processing with attachment theory, somatic work, and resource therapy, whilst holding space for the relational field, the body, the ancestors, the spirit, and all of your parts. It looks beyond an isolated distressing event to explore the 'Rupture' (the initial disruption to your sense of safety) and any 'Absence of Repair' in early life that allowed those emotional wounds to remain unresolved.
RI-EMDR honours the understanding that we are all composed of different parts that hold pieces of our trauma stories so that our primary self doesn't become overwhelmed. Guided by the belief that your mind and body possess an innate ability to heal, RI-EMDR bridges past wounds with present strengths, helping you break old patterns and cultivate a deeply authentic way of being.
Is your practice neuro-affirming?
Yes, absolutely. At Soma + Soul, we operate from a deeply neuro-affirming framework. We do not view neurodivergence as a deficit to be fixed or a set of behaviors to be masked. Instead, we honour your unique nervous system and cognitive blueprint as a natural, valuable variation of the human experience. In our space, therapy is about working with your natural wiring, exploring somatic safety, and tailoring our collaborative approach to support your authentic self, without the pressure to conform to neurotypical expectations.
Fees & Policies
Do I need a referral from my GP?
No, you are not required to get a referral however you are welcome to. If desired we are more than happy to liaise with your primary health provider.
Can I claim sessions with Medicare or Private Health Insurance?
Tammy: Psychotherapy does not fall under the Medicare Benefits Scheme (MBS) however some Private Health Insurers will provide benefits towards psychotherapy. Please check with your Private Health Insurer to see if you are covered. As psychotherapy does not operate under a medical model it does not require a psychiatric diagnosis. This acknowledges all may seek support for a variety of reasons, maintaining privacy and confidentiality. A perceived benefit of psychotherapy working outside a Mental Health Care Plan is the absence of rebates. Whenever rebates are offered, either by government (e.g Medicare) or insurers (e.g private / workers compensation) your private information becomes vulnerable. Your diagnoses, history, and management plan, may be available to the insurer and, in part, employers. The presence of a MBS Mental Health Care Plan becomes a permanent part of your health records. This record may influence your capacity to receive or restrict health and life insurance coverage and may impact on employment opportunities.
Daniel: At this time, sessions with Daniel are not eligible for Medicare Benefits Scheme (MBS) rebates or Private Health Insurance claims. This is because Daniel is currently practicing as a Provisional Psychologist. While this means you cannot claim a rebate, we have intentionally structured our fee schedule to be more accessible, reflecting a lower out-of-pocket cost to the gap fee you would pay for a fully registered psychologist. This allows us to provide high-quality care, without the administrative constraints of the Medicare system, ensuring our focus remains entirely on your therapeutic journey.
What are your fees?

Daniel - 55 minute session: $125.00.

What is your cancellation policy?
We know things happen. If for some reason you need to postpone or cancel your appointment, please provide 24hrs notice. Failure to do so will incur the full session fee.
